September 2007 |
Lauren Vaux |
Under 14 |
For nearly three years, Lauren has been helping with the coaching of the current U13 training-only group. Initially, she helped her step-sister with this, but now coaches them on her own. This group of boys are of mixed footballing ability and commitment, so it can be hard to organise sessions that meets all their needs. Lauren is very reliable and helps for 2 hours every Saturday. The boys respect her, and she is not afraid to show them who is boss! She also recommends the better players to the B Team squad so assists with their development. On a number of occasions, she has organised specialist training for the U13 A and B keepers, as she herself is a keeper with Brentford FC and Hanwell Town. |

May 2007 |
Mark Cameron |
Under 13 A |
Mark has returned to Pitshanger FC, joining us in the A team after previously playing in the B's, putting in some excellent displays in defence, stepping up to the higher level of football with no problems and is really developing his game. This is partially due to his comittment to Athletics for during the season Mark has been transformed into a top class cross-country runner for his age group. Mark has appeared for his School, Borough and County at many cross country events, including the National event in Sunderland, and has risen up the ranks during that time. He took part in the London Half Marathon in April this year. Mark has had an outstanding sporting season and we are very proud and pleased for him, as he has been a part of the team from the very start at U7. |

Lauren Andrews, 15, has been helping with the coaching of the U12 group for two years. She now has responsibility for the U12 'Training-only' group who occasionally play as the U12C team. She turns up every Saturday morning and looks after a group of 10-16 boys. These are players who have not been included within our League squads and the group includes a wide range of abilities. Many of the boys have improved considerably in recent months and have benefited from the coaching that she gives. Lauren also coaches our League squad keepers (Lauren is a keeper for Spurs Ladies). |
